Whether it’s fuel consumption, energy efficiency, or dynamic performance, our SORT and CUNA tests provide the detailed insights you need to optimize your products and succeed in a competitive market.

Due to demands of manufacturers which arises from their contract necessities, SORT tests and CUNA tests are being conducted at site, at manufacturer’s facilities, and at laboratories by ITAC – Vincotte. Mainly, M3 Category Class I and Class II vehicles are in our scope. SORT Tests occupy 3 individual tests which are differentiate according to test mileage and velocities. CUNA Regulations consist of various tests. ITAC – Vincotte carries out required CUNA tests according to demand of manufacturers by adhering to requirements of manufacturers.

SORT Tests are conducted to figure fuel consumption and energy consumption out Diesel; CNG vehicles and Electrical vehicles respectively.

SORT 1; SORT 2; SORT 3 tests constitute a complete SORT test. SORT 1 is performed at a mileage of 1040 meters. SORT 2 is performed at mileage of 920 meters. SORT 3 is performed at mileage of 1450 meters. These runs have various speed targets. Vehicle accelerates to a constant speed, maintains this speed constantly during a period, vehicle decelerates finally to a stop. This acceleration; constant speed; and deceleration phases generates a trapeze. Each SORT run is made up of 3 trapezes which ends with a double door open – close action. During the tests consumption is being recorded simultaneously by vehicle speed. Three valid results are collected. Consumption values are said to be valid when results come into an accuracy %2 to each other. Resultantly SORT consumption is being acquired. ITAC – Vincotte generates a report fulfilling ISO 17020 requirements as a conclusion.

Weight of the vehicle for SORT tests are unique to each vehicle as configuration changes. This SORT weight is calculated according to formulas at the Regulation.

Vehicle is being driven at a track, while heading and returning at the same track. This is done to eliminate differences caused by wind and road conditions. Test shall be done at special weather conditions; wind-speed level, ambient temperature; humidity of air are strict elements during SORT tests.

At Diesel and CNG vehicles results are in kg/100 km; however at electrical vehicles results are kWh/100 km. At electrical vehicles a range of a fully charged battery packs range output is being calculated.

Aim at SORT tests is to come into a result with the same weight calculations; with same speed limits; with same mileage for rather different buses of different manufacturers. These conditions make every manufacturer to be evaluated at a technically fair level. Unlike buses with completely identical approach of testing make the purchaser to decide only taking fuel consumption into consideration.

CUNA tests are divided into 2 main groups CUNA 503 Series and CUNA 504 Series. CUNA 504 Series of Regulations are related to sound measurements. CUNA 503 Series of Regulations are about dynamic features such as commercial speed; hill start – ability. Additionally, CUNA 503 – 05 is Maneuverability. CUNA 503 – 01 and CUNA 503 – 02 are about determination of fuel consumption.

Apart from these above stated CUNAs; various regulations o f CUNA are also tracked by ITAC – Vincotte which are not as common as CUNA 503s and CUNA 504s.

These are;
CUNA 548 – 10 Quick coupling socket for charging from outside the pneumatic system
CUNA 571 – 20 Central emergency command
CUNA 582 – 10 Equipment to be placed in front of the driver
CUNA 586 – 06 Driver’s seat ventilation and windshield defrosting
CUNA 590 – 02 Limitation of the burning rate of materials inside vehicles
CUNA 575 – 02 Thermal Comfort Heating system for driver’s seat and passenger compartment

During CUNA tests calibrated equipment are being used. Sound level measurements are gained at stationary; drive – by; and departing vehicle conditions. Values are evaluated according to limits which are designated at regulations.

Vehicle commercial speed; vehicle speed are also tested with calibrated equipment. Results are acquired and a report is generated by ITAC – Vincotte.

CUNA 503 – 01; CUNA 503 – 02 tests are conducted to measure fuel consumption at a straight; level route. Mileage is 3000 meters. Test is finalized with a consumption value. This value is being evaluated according to limits after a calculation.
